LILY GUITERREZ

The London based stylist writer and artist Lily Gutierrez is a distinct creature of our times.
Because she hates: salon hair, things that match,
sun-tans, anything chic and ironing.

The first time we met Lily her she was wearing a Margot Tannebaum
fur and a 90s sun dress cut to mid thigh in mid winter in Fort Greene Brooklyn. Bare legs, so provocative.

Lily keeps marrying the same man, photographer (Victor Guitierrez).
The first time she married him was in 1920s satin, for the party she slipped into a cloud of Alberta Ferretti lace. At the New York City hall registry office she wore YSL heels and a Vivienne Westwood corset and trousers.....and then, stay with us, she celebrated her third wedding
in a 60s mini dress and matching hat that really took the CAKE.

Lily described the look as follows....

"It is made by Priscilla of Boston (who made Grace Kelly's bridesmaids dresses) it's kind of sheer and floaty (maybe polyester!) with shaping around the bottom so it hangs just right, it's short with fabric (maybe satin) daisies sewn across the bust over a kind of daisy print lace, and a couple of daisies at the top of the swoopy sleeves, little buttons up the back, more daisies sewn on lace, and a ridiculous hat to match. Victor bought it from a vintage shop, we didn't remarry but we did stay in and have sex.
I didn't have the right shoes to leave the house... to finish the look and take it public I need off white gogo boots or the right Mary Janes. Miu Miu or last years YSL?"
